A Giving Tribute - National Photography Competition

A Giving Tribute has two exciting competitions open for entries, a landscape competition and a wildlife competition! They have some great prizes along with the chance to have your photo chosen to be added to their image library, earning you a royalty payment every time it is used on a Tribute Card!

Whether you are just starting out or a fully-fledged professional, you are welcome to enter. Please visit their site for more info - www.agivingtribute.com. The competition closes at the end of February 2013.

I am pleased to be involved as one of the competition judges - see press release below written by Liz Mowatt, A Giving Tribute.

A Giving Tribute Snaps Up Top Kent Photographer Sarah

Renowned Edenbridge based photographer Sarah Medway, a former Kent Wildlife Trust Photographer of the Year Winner, is to be a guest judge for a nationwide landscape photography competition. It was Sarah’s landscape photographs of Kent and the South East Coast of the UK that caught the eye of A Giving Tribute who are running the competition. “Sarah’s work focuses on quality of light and how it transforms the landscape momentarily, giving her photographs an emotional pull, something we will look for in our entries,” explains Liz Mowatt of ‘A Giving Tribute – For Lasting Memories’, who are running the competition. “The competition is open to all keen photographers; as well as generous cash prizes for the winners, we will be selecting the best fifteen landscape photographs to be added to our Image Library, earning the photographer a royalty fee each time it is chosen by a mourner for their Tribute Card” explains Liz.

Sarah is delighted to be working with A Giving Tribute whose cards celebrate the life of the deceased and have been described by Dragon’s Den James Caan as “a superb idea that will help people manage their loss in a proactive way”.

Each Tribute Card comprises a shared memory and photograph (the creator’s own or one from the image library) and may either be displayed at the funeral by the funeral director or sent directly to the bereaved family as a more meaningful alternative to a sympathy card. “Not many of us can take photographs as skillful as Sarah’s” continues Liz, “but if a keen amateur has captured a scene that stirs their senses, then it is sure to do the same for others too”.

To enter the free competition, which closes at the end of February 2013, visit www.agivingtribute.com and click on the ‘About Us’ Tab. A Giving Tribute is available from funeral directors throughout the Kent area or directly on A Giving Tribute’s Website. /ends
